Year 6 DT: life-sized air raid shelters
Today saw the culmination of this term's STEAM Project for our Year 6s.
Having explored the social impact of World War 2 on life in Britain, the children have worked closely with Mr Kent our Site Assistant using saws, drills and screws to construct a life-sized Anderson Shelter. The children loved having the opportunity to bring the skills that they have developed to life on a big scale - it truly represents what learning is about at Aureus Primary School!
A huge well done to Year 6 for demonstrating our school values of grit, creativity and teamwork in creating their outstanding structure. Big thanks also go to Mr Kent (who has been awarded Star of the Week for all his hard work) for giving up his time and sharing his expertise with the children.
