Reception visit Sutton Courtenay Nature Reserve
Earlier this term, Reception enjoyed their first trip to Sutton Courtenay Nature Reserve. The children learnt to use their senses to explore the environment and took part in several activities where they smelled herbs to make a smoothie for badger and looked for woollen worms to feed a baby bird's big belly. They went on a hunt for different textures and colours but all struggled to find something dry and crunchy due to the very wet weather (we found plenty of soggy things!) The children also got to see a variety of nocturnal animals that live in the Didcot area, linking to our Wider Curriculum learning.
